ANKARA (AA) - Napoli midfielder Eljif Elmas scored the second-quickest goal ever in UEFA Europa League to go down in tournament history.
He found the net within 11 seconds into a match when Napoli lost to Spartak Moscow 3-2 at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Thursday.
The 22-year old North Macedonia national team player's goal is now behind Jan Sykora's record, which was set 10.69 seconds in a 2016 match (Qarabag 2-2 Liberec) but surpassed several famed players such as Juan Mata and Sergio Aguero.
Elmas' goal was also the fastest Europa League goal for an Italian club.
