ISTANBUL (AA) - US stocks opened mixed on Monday, but the Nasdaq partially rebounded from last week's losses.
The tech-heavy index jumped 148 points, or 1.02%, to 14,672 at 10.10 a.m.EDT. The index plummeted 3.25% last week to record its worst weekly performance since September 2023.
The S&P 500 rose 17 points, or 0.37%, to 4,714. The Dow Jones, on the other hand, decreased 157 points, or 0.42%, to 37,313 at the time.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, was up 2.4% to 13.67. The 10-year US Treasury yield fell 0.9% to 4.001%.
The dollar index decreased 0.14% to 102.26, while the euro rose 0.2% to $1.0964 against the greenback.
Precious metals were in negative territory, with gold decreasing 0.08% to $2,029 per ounce and silver trimming 0.36% to $23.10.
Oil prices were down around 4%, with global benchmark Brent crude at $75.71 per barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate crude at $70.58.
