ISTANBUL (AA) - The lineup for the national feature competition at the 12th Bosphorus Film Festival was unveiled on Wednesday.
Set to run on Oct. 18-25, the festival will bring together movie lovers in Istanbul for a week-long program of screenings and special events.
The event, organized by the Bosphorus Culture and Arts Foundation, will have Anadolu as its global communications partner.
This year, 10 films will compete for the prestigious Golden Dolphin award, according to the festival organizers.
“It is truly rewarding to witness once again the remarkable talent and creativity in our country's cinema industry,” said Ogun Sanlier, who heads the festival.
Enes Erbay, the festival’s artistic director, emphasized that the selected films highlight the narrative depth and creative strength of Turkish cinema, both on the national stage and beyond.
The competition entries will be judged by a panel led by director Atalay Tasdiken.
The films selected for the National Feature Competition include:
- Fidan by Aycil Yeltan
- August Dreams (Agustos Dusleri) by Halil Can Akbulut
- Derun by Muge Ugurlar
- Cycle (Dongu) by Erkan Tahhusoglu
- Indifferent (Kayitsiz) by Ozlem Cingirlar
- Destiny (Mukadderat) by Nadim Guc
- Between the Dog and the Wolf by Murat Duzgunoglu
- Two Women Behind Bars by Mehmet Eryilmaz
- Scattered Time (Savrulan Zaman) by Selim Evci
- Gulizar by Belkis Bayrak
The festival will conclude with an awards ceremony on Oct. 25.
