BURSA, Turkey (AA) - Nestle broke ground on Turkey's first medical nutrition plant in the northwestern Bursa province, the industry and technology minister said on Friday.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mustafa Varank said the facility will be Nestle's largest investment in Turkey since 2011.
"The factory, to be established with an investment worth 250 million Turkish liras ($30 million), will directly and indirectly generate 400 jobs," Varank said.
Once the factory starts production, it will meet 63% of Turkey's medical nutrition product imports.
"In other words, with this investment, a major indigenization move in the field of medical nutrition has been implemented," Varank underlined.
