ANKARA (AA) - Damar Hamlin, a National Football League (NFL) player in the US, on Monday collapsed during a football game and is in a "critical condition."
"Tonight's Buffalo Bills - Cincinnati Bengals game has been postponed after Buffalo Bills' Damar Hamlin collapsed, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced," the NFL said in a statement on Twitter.
The NFL said the 24-year-old "received immediate medical attention on the field by the team and independent medical staff and local paramedics."
After a tackle, Hamlin fell to the ground. He was administered CPR on the field before being rushed to a hospital.
The Bills tweeted that the player suffered from a "cardiac arrest."
The NFL said Hamlin was then hospitalized and is now in a "critical condition."
"Our thoughts are with Damar and the Buffalo Bills," the league's organizers added.
US national Hamlin has been playing for the Bills since 2021.
