LAGOS, Nigeria (AA) - At least 10 people were burnt to death after an oil tanker exploded in Nigeria's northeast Gombe state, an official said on Saturday.
“The accident involved an oil tanker, which collided with a water truck along Yola road in Gombe. 10 persons were burnt beyond recognition while 16 others suffered varying degrees of burns,” Sadiq Alkali, spokesman for the National Emergency Management Agency, told Anadolu Agency.
Alkali said those injured were evacuated to different hospitals in the state.
He said dozens of vehicles and houses were also affected.
