ANKARA (AA) - Nigeria on Tuesday confirmed 135 new COVID-19 infections as the vaccination campaign against the disease continues.
With 2,058 new coronavirus-related deaths, the overall caseload has risen to 163,330 including 2,058 deaths and 152,045 recoveries, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.
Last week, the National Primary Health Care Development Agency said the vaccination drive continues with the Oxford-AstraZeneca jab, beginning with frontline health workers and vulnerable individuals, and "there has been no change to current plans or supply.”
It said that all decisions and advice “are guided by best practice scientific evidence" and that "we are confident in AstraZeneca’s ability to save lives."
Over 800,000 eligible Nigerians have received their first dose of the vaccine as of April 1.
