ISTANBUL (AA) - Nissan Türkiye's General Manager Charbel Abi Ghanem on Monday took part in Anadolu Agency's Photos of the Year contest, voting for his choices in the categories of "Gaza: Evidence" and "Earthquake: Hope".
Ghanem voted for Sergen Sezgin's photo titled "Survivor after 116 hours" in the "Earthquake: Hope" category, featuring search and rescue crews pulling a cat from the rubble of a collapsed building in the southeastern province of Hatay.
In the "Gaza: Evidence" category, Ghanem voted for Ali Jadallah's photo titled "Night attack in Gaza," in which smoke and flames rise as a result of Israeli illumination flare attacks on Al-Shati refugee camp in the Gaza Strip.
Ghanem said: "I would like to congratulate, Türkiye's longest-established news agency, Anadolu, which recognizes the importance of photography as an integral part of journalism, for giving the 'Photo of the Year' award for 12 years.
