‘No cease-fire’ in Gaza: Israeli army

‘There are tactical, local pauses’ which are ‘limited in time and area,’ says army

JERUSALEM (AA) - The Israeli army reiterated Thursday that there would be no cease-fire in the Gaza Strip, only “limited, localized tactical pauses.”

“There is no ceasefire. There are tactical, local pauses for humanitarian aid for Gazan civilians,” the army wrote on X.

It noted that the pauses are “limited in time and area.”

“We are also providing humanitarian corridors for civilians in Gaza to temporarily move south to safer areas where they can receive humanitarian aid,” it said.

Despite international calls and appeals for a humanitarian cease-fire, the Israeli government continues to resist an arrangement.

The Israeli army continues to encourage Palestinians in northern Gaza to move to the south.

Israeli army spokesperson Daniel Hagari said Wednesday that tens of thousands of Palestinians had evacuated the north to the south in the past two days.

Israel has been escalating its military actions, including airstrikes, ground operations, and naval bombardments, particularly in the northern region of the Gaza Strip, where it is advancing with tanks.
