ISTANBUL (AA) - A Russian delegation arrived in Pyongyang to hold an inter-governmental meeting for cooperation with North Korea in trade, economy, science and technology.
Alexandr Kozlov, Russia's minister of natural resources and ecology, is leading the delegation which was greeted by Yun Jong Ho, North Korea's minister of external economic relations at Pyongyang International Airport on Sunday, according to state-run Korean Central News Agency.
Details of the meeting are expected to be released Tuesday after the two sides held deliberations on Monday.
This would be the 11th such inter-governmental meeting as Pyongyang and Moscow have boosted ties in recent months.
In June, Pyongyang and Moscow signed the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement that requires extending military aid to each other in case of aggression from a third country.
The agreement was signed during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to North Korea.
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visited Russia last year, with two sides reportedly extending help to each other as Moscow's war on Ukraine has surpassed 1,000 days.
