ISTANBUL (AA) — North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un paid a two-day visit to a flood-hit northern part of the country, state media reported on Saturday.
During his visit to inundated areas of Uiju county, located in North Phyongan province, Kim took "important measures" for the region's rehabilitation, reported KCNA.
According to the state-run news agency, he stressed the need to implement the development program of the Workers' Party of Korea for the region, beyond "removing the aftermath of natural disaster."
North Korea reported last week that thousands of homes in the city of Sinuiju and in Uiju county had been flooded due to heavy rainfall.
