SKOPJE, Macedonia (AA) – North Macedonia will hold presidential elections on April 24 followed by general elections on May 8, the country’s parliament said Wednesday.
Parliament Speaker Jovan Mitreski signed a decree stating that the first round of the presidential election will be held on April 24, while the second round will coincide with the May 8 parliamentary elections.
Mitreski said he expects all relevant institutions and organizations to contribute to the election process in a fair and democratic way that is worthy of a democratic country on the path of NATO and European Union memberships.
North Macedonia’s main political parties agreed in December last year to organize general elections on May 8, two months early.
