Northern Cyprus foreign minister wishes success to Türkiye's 1st space traveler

Tahsin Ertugruloglu draws inspiration from Mustafa Kemal Ataturk in wishes to Alper Gezeravci on historic space mission

LEFKOSA, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (AA) - The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertugruloglu, expressed best wishes Thursday for the success of Alper Gezeravci, Türkiye's first space traveler.

"Inspired by the words of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of our motherland Türkiye, 'The future is in the skies,' I wish success to Alper Gezeravci in his historic mission to space, initiated under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as part of Türkiye's space exploration efforts," Ertugruloglu said in a statement.

Earlier Thursday, private space exploration firm SpaceX, wrote on X: "All systems are looking good for today’s launch of Ax-3. Liftoff is targeted for 4:49 p.m. ET (2149GMT), and weather is 80% favorable for liftoff.”

Liftoff in Türkiye is Friday at 12.49 a.m.
