ISTANBUL (AA) – As wildfires hit Canada, northern parts of the US is hit by unhealthy air stemming from wildfire smoke billowing into the country, while the southern states like Arizona and Texas are grappling with extreme heat.
According to data from the US National Weather Service (NWS), the temperatures in California, Nevada, Arizona, and Texas are on a steady rise.
The temperature in several parts of California hit a whopping 53.9C (129F), as Las Vegas saw over 47C (116F), while Arizonans and Texans continue to battle temperatures hovering around 40C (104F).
Meanwhile, wildfire smoke stemming from wildfires in Canada hit Washington state, Northern California and Oregon, as well as parts of Michigan and Wyoming, causing a decline in air quality.
