WARSAW (AA) - An object entered Poland from across the Ukraine border on Monday morning, the operational commander of the Polish Armed Forces said.
“During Monday's massive attack on Ukrainian territory, we probably had an object flying into Polish territory. The object was confirmed by radar by at least three radar stations. We had full control of the object and were ready to shoot it down,” Gen. Maciej Klisz told a news briefing in the capital Warsaw.
The object flew into Poland from the direction of the Ukrainian city of Chervonohrad Klisz said, adding that it most likely landed in the Tyszowce commune.
According to the general, the object disappeared from radars after about 25 kilometers of flight.
“It was not confirmed by planes and helicopters. A search operation for the object has been launched,” Klisz said, adding that the object was not a missile.
Klisz said he was in constant contact with both Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz and Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Army Gen. Wieslaw Kukula.
Earlier, 15 Ukrainian regions came under massive Russian drone and missile attacks on Monday morning.
Several Russian missiles have landed in Poland since Russia’s full-scale attack on Ukraine in February 2022.
