ANKARA (AA) – The Greek basketball club Olympiacos on Tuesday extended the contract of their head coach Giorgos Bartzokas.
"Olympiacos BC announces the extension of the collaboration with coach Giorgos Bartzokas until 2025," the club said in a statement.
Greek coach Bartzokas met with club presidents Panagiotis and Giorgos Angelopoulos on Tuesday to agree on terms for the next three seasons.
Bartzokas has been coaching Olympiacos since 2020, returning to the club for a second time.
The 57-year-old coached the Reds in 2012-2014 as he guided Olympiacos to the 2013 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague championship.
He was named EuroLeague Coach of the Year in 2013 and 2022.
Under Bartzokas' helm, Olympiacos recently won the 2022 Greek league title.
Bartzokas also coached Russia's Lokomotiv Kuban and Khimki Moscow, as well as Spanish club Barcelona.
