ANKARA (AA) - Nigerians will benefit from a potent coronavirus vaccine once it is developed, the Nigerian health minister said on Wednesday.
According to local The Nation website, arrangements have been made by the Health Ministry to ensure that Nigerians get the vaccine immediately after it is developed, Health Minister Osagie Ehanire announced,.
"Just last week, we signed a Memorandum of Understanding to ensure that when the vaccines, wherever they come from -- that has been established to be effective for COVID-19 -- we will not be left behind," Ehanire was quoted as saying.
Nigeria, Africa’s most populous country, is one of the hardest-hit countries on the continent.
Nigeria has so far confirmed 1,160 COVID-19-related deaths and 64,336 infections, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said in its latest daily update.
