ANKARA (AA) – Naomi Osaka and Jennifer Brady will face off in the final of the 2021 Australian Open on Saturday.
Osaka, who won the tournament in 2019, sailed into the final with a straight-set victory over American star Serena Williams.
The 23-year-old powered her way to a 6-3, 6-4 win at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, her 20th victory on the trot.
American national Brady, ranked 22 in the world, overcame her Czech opponent Karolina Muchova 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 in Thursday’s other semifinal.
Saturday’s showdown with Osaka will be Brady’s first Grand Slam final.
It will be a repeat of the pair’s 2020 US Open semifinal clash, which Osaka won in three sets.
