JERUSALEM (AA) - Over 100 Israeli soldiers have sustained serious injuries in the ongoing ground operation in the northern Gaza Strip, which began two weeks ago, an Israeli newspaper reported on Friday.
Yedioth Ahronoth said that nearly 250 soldiers have been injured during the operation. Of these, over 100 have either serious injuries or require urgent evacuation.
The newspaper further elaborated that the predominant causes of soldier fatalities include direct fire, shrapnel wounds, or anti-tank missile impacts.
On Friday, the Israeli army said another soldier had been killed in Gaza, bringing the death toll since the start of the ground operation to 38, while the total death toll among Israeli army ranks has risen to 354 since Oct. 7.
Israel has launched relentless air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip since a cross-border attack by the Palestinian resistance group Hamas on Oct. 7.
At least 10,812 Palestinians have been killed, including 4,412 children and 2,918 women. The Israeli death toll, meanwhile, is nearly 1,600, according to official figures.
