ANKARA (AA) - A total of 85,691 road motor vehicles were registered in Turkey through October, marking a 25.1% decrease compared to the same month last year, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) said on Tuesday.
Cars accounted for 50.8% of total registrations, followed by motorcycles 22.8%, small trucks 15.4%, tractors 7.0%, trucks 2.9%, minibuses 0.5%, buses 0.4% and special purpose vehicles 0.2%.
In terms of model brands for newly registered cars, 16.9% were Fiat over the month, while 12% were Renault, and 8.5% Volkswagen.
Over the period of January-October, 998,860 road motor vehicles were registered, posting a 17.4% increase year-on-year.
During this period, the share of gasoline-fueled cars was 61.7%, followed by diesel-fueled cars with 23.9%, electric or hybrid cars with 8.9% and LPG-fueled cars with 5.5%.
