KARACHI, Pakistan (AA) – The Pakistan Navy on Wednesday said it has seized over 780 kilograms (over 1,700 pounds) of narcotics in an intelligence-based operation at the Arabian Sea.
The estimated value of the seized narcotics is $235 million in the international market, said a statement from the navy.
“In an intelligence based counter-narcotics operation, Pakistan Navy and the Anti-Narcotics Force seized approximately 782 kg of narcotics at Arabian Sea,” the statement said, adding that the drugs were stowed in hidden compartments of a fishing boat that was successfully intercepted by a Pakistani Navy ship.
