ISLAMABAD (AA) – Pakistan on Wednesday conducted a successful flight test of the "Ababeel" missile capable of carrying nuclear warheads and engaging multiple targets with high precision.
“The test flight was aimed at re-validating various design, technical parameters and performance evaluation of different sub-systems of the weapon system,” Pakistan Army’s media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
“The missile system is aimed at strengthening deterrence and enhancing strategic stability in the region,” it said.
President Arif Alvi, caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar, and the services chiefs congratulated the scientists involved and the armed forces on the latest achievement.
