KARACHI, Pakistan (AA)- Pakistan 's caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar visited Kuwait on Monday to offer condolences over the demise of its ruler, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
During his meeting with the new Emir, Sheikh Meshal al-Ahmad al-Sabah, Kakar offered sincerest and heartfelt condolences on behalf of the government and the people of Pakistan, said a statement from the Prime Minister Office.
Al-Sabah passed away on Saturday at the age of 86.
"The State of Kuwait has lost a visionary leader, who transformed Kuwait into a prosperous State. He will be remembered as well-wisher and friend of Pakistan," Kakar was quoted as saying.
Expressing gratitude to the government and the people of Pakistan for standing with the people of Kuwait in this time of grief, Meshal expressed "full support for Pakistan-Kuwait relations and affirmed his commitment to further augment this relationship."
