RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) - Palestinian prisoners' affairs groups on Friday released names of 39 Palestinian detainees that are expected to be released on Friday evening.
Both the Palestinian Prisoners Society NGO and official Commission for Prisoners' Affairs released the list comprising of 39 female detainees and male detainees under the age of 19.
According to the Israeli Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, the Israeli authorities moved 24 Palestinian female detainees and 15 males to Ofer Prison facility near West Bank city of Ramallah in preparation of prisoner swap with the Hamas group.
Under the agreement on the four-day humanitarian pause in Gaza, 50 Israelis held by Hamas will be released in exchange for 150 Palestinian detainees in Israeli jails.
The four-day humanitarian pause between the Israeli army and Palestinian group Hamas came into effect on Friday morning in all areas of the Gaza Strip, temporarily stopping attacks for prisoner exchange and aid.
Israel has launched relentless air and ground attacks in the Gaza Strip following the Hamas attack, killing more than 14,854 Palestinians, including 6,150 children and over 4,000 women, according to health authorities in the enclave.
The Israeli death toll, meanwhile, is around 1,200, according to official figures.
