RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) - A Palestinian was injured and several others arrested during Israeli raids in cities and towns across the occupied West Bank late Sunday, witnesses said.
Israeli forces carried out a series of incursions in the cities of Nablus and Ramallah, the Al-Far'a refugee camp near Tubas, and towns in Hebron and Tulkarm.
While the raids at homes and businesses led to clashes and armed confrontations with Palestinians, explosions were also heard in several areas within the camp.
The army destroyed infrastructure, private property, and vehicles before withdrawing from the camp.
In Nablus, a Palestinian was shot in the leg with a live bullet, and another was arrested.
Israeli forces also detained around 40 people in the town of Silwad and caused extensive damage to several homes and businesses during searches. The residents were mistreated and assaulted during the process.
The West Bank, which Israel has occupied since 1967, has seen a rise in tensions since the Gaza war on Oct. 7. 2023.
At least 553 Palestinians have since been killed in the territory, which is home to thousands of illegal Israeli settlers, according to Palestinian officials.
