ISTANBUL (AA) - A Palestinian was killed Thursday by the Israeli army in Al-Bireh in the central occupied West Bank.
“A citizen was martyred after succumbing to critical injuries from live gunfire by the (Israeli) occupation forces to the chest in the city of Al-Bireh,” the Palestinian Ministry of Health said in a statement.
It raises the death toll in the West Bank to 520 Palestinians since Oct. 7, according to figures from the ministry.
Earlier, the ministry announced the number of Palestinians injured by Israeli army gunfire in Al-Bireh had risen to five, two of whom are in critical condition.
One person was “critically injured by live gunfire to the head, another critically injured to the chest, a (moderate to serious) injury to the abdomen, and two minor injuries to the lower limbs,” it said.
Witnesses told Anadolu that an army force stormed the center of Al-Bireh, raided several Palestinian homes and arrested at least one person.
They noted that fighting broke out between dozens of Palestinians and Israeli forces, who used live ammunition.
Six Palestinians were also injured by live gunfire early Thursday during an army raid on Jenin in the northern West Bank, with sirens sounding in the city and its refugee camp.
