RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) – A Palestinian teen was killed by Israeli army fire in the occupied West Bank on Tuesday, according to the Health Ministry.
A ministry statement said a 17-year-old Palestinian sustained serious injuries from Israeli fire during a raid in Faraa refugee camp, south of Tubas city, and died of his wounds.
Another Palestinian was injured during the Israeli raid and was transferred to hospital for medical attention, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.
Activist Khaled Mansur said Israeli forces raided the camp early morning, triggering clashes with angry residents during which Israeli soldiers used fire to disperse protesters.
He said a Palestinian was detained by Israeli forces during the raid.
There was no comment from the Israeli army on the report.
The Israeli army frequently carries out wide-ranging arrest campaigns across the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians.
According to Palestinian figures, at least 49 Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire, including 11 minors, since the start of this year.
