RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) - A Palestinian woman was killed late Wednesday and four others were injured during an Israeli military incursion into the village of Anza in southern Jenin.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that teams transported a deceased woman, and four victims who were injured, including three women, to a hospital.

They included a 73-year-old woman who was shot in the head, a 9-year-old girl and a young man with injuries to his jaw, it said.

The Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed the death of Zohour Qassem Amour, 32, from Israeli gunfire in Anza.

Ayman Obeida, a member of the village council, said a special Israeli military unit entered the village disguised in a civilian vehicle to arrest a young man, followed by military vehicles.

He added that special forces “opened fire indiscriminately, leading to the woman's death and injuries to others who were gathered at a mourning house in the village.”

Witnesses told Anadolu that the army raided the village under heavy gunfire, with reports of armed clashes and troops surrounding a home.

Later, witnesses reported that the army arrested a young man from the house before withdrawing from the village.

State-run Palestine TV reported that the Israeli army invaded Jenin and its refugee camp, detonating a house.

Activists on social media shared videos of military vehicles blocking ambulances from reaching those injured in Anza.

In recent years, the Israeli military has conducted regular raids in the occupied West Bank, which have escalated with the beginning of the onslaught against the Gaza Strip on Oct. 7.

Palestinians have also been brutally attacked by illegal Israeli settlers.

At least 718 Palestinians have since been killed and more than 5,750 injured by Israeli army fire in the occupied territory, according to the Palestinians Health Ministry.

The International Court of Justice, in a landmark opinion on July 19, declared Israel's decades-long occupation of Palestinian land "illegal" and demanded the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
