ISTANBUL (AA) — Panathinaikos fans displayed Palestine and Lebanon flag banners during Tuesday's Turkish Airlines EuroLeague game.

Fans raised huge banners reading "Stop Genocide” and “Freedom to Palestine” in solidarity with Palestine and Lebanon at Oaka Altion.

The EuroLeague Round 9 clash between Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens and Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv ended with a 93-87 score in favor of the Greek side in Athens.

Israel has continued a devastating offensive on Gaza since an attack by the Palestinian resistance group Hamas in October 2023, despite a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire.

Nearly 43,700 people have since been killed in Gaza, mostly women and children, and over 103,000 injured, according to Palestinian health authorities.

In Lebanon, the toll includes nearly 3,300 dead, over 14,200 injured, and more than 1 million people displaced due to the Israeli attacks, according to Lebanese health authorities.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its deadly war on Gaza.
