JERUSALEM (AA) - Israeli authorities have approved giving third doses of coronavirus vaccine to people 40 and over as well as teachers.
The country’s Covid-19 Vaccine and Outbreak Control Advisory Board decided to expand the groups to which third doses of the COVID-19 vaccine can be administered.
Following the decision, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, 49, will reportedly have his third dose this morning.
Israel at the end of July decided to authorize third doses to people 60 and over and on Aug. 13 to people 50 and over.
Israel has a population of 9.3 million, and first vaccine doses have been administered to 5.87 million people, second doses to 5.43 million, and third doses to 1.2 million.
