ANKARA (AA) – The Philadelphia 76ers beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 127-113 with Joel Embiid's NBA season-high 51 points on Wednesday.
Embiid rallied his team to victory with 51 points, 12 rebounds and three assists, while Tyrese Maxey, who dropped 15 points in the final quarter only, contributed with 35 points at Wells Fargo Center.
"I felt like I was playing within the offense and not forcing anything," said Embiid, who marked his seventh career game with at least 50 points. "I took what was being given to me. And I've been trying to figure out when to be aggressive and when to let my teammates do their thing."
Anthony Edwards scored 27 points for Timberwolves, while Karl-Anthony Towns contributed with 23 points and 13 rebounds.
The Philadelphia 76ers are placed third in the Eastern Conference with 19 wins and eight losses, while the Timberwolves lead the Western standings with 20 wins and six losses.
