ATHENS (AA) – A Greek air force jet crashed on Wednesday, killing the pilot, Greece's Air Force announced on Wednesday.
According to local media, the deceased pilot was identified as Sq. Ld. Epaminondas Kostas.
The accident took place half a mile northwest of the airport of Kalamata in southern Greece when a T-2E Buckeye training aircraft of the 363 Air Education Squadron crashed during a training flight, the Greek Air Force said in a statement earlier.
A committee of experts is investigating the accident, according to the statement.
