ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkish security forces have "neutralized" a PKK/KCK terrorist in the red category of Türkiye's wanted list, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced Friday.

The terrorist, identified as Ramazan Aktas and known by the codename Farasin-Bedran, was neutralized in a clash during the Gurz-19 operation in the Artuklu district of southeastern Mardin province, Yerlikaya said.

"We will not give these traitors any breathing room," Yerlikaya said. "Our operations will continue with determination 365 days a year."

Security forces also seized an array of equipment and ammunition, including an M16 rifle, four grenades, power banks, and an audio recorder, the minister said.

In its nearly 40-year terror campaign against Türkiye, the PKK — listed as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the US, and EU — has been responsible for the deaths of more than 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants.
