ANKARA (AA) - Anita Wlodarczyk of Poland won gold at the Tokyo Olympics on Tuesday in the women’s hammer throw.
Wlodarczyk made history with a throw of 78.48 meters as the first female to secure consecutive Olympic titles in an individual competition with three gold medals in a row.
She previously bagged the top spot on the podium at the London Games in 2012 and Rio in 2016.
Teammate Malwina Kopron settled for bronze with a throw of 75.49 meters and Wang Zheng of China won silver, throwing a distance of 77.03 meters.
