ATHENS (AA) - The Polish General Staff said Friday it is considering awarding military ranks to dogs in use by the armed forces.
“In recognition of their role in combat operations, the soldiers proposed awarding them military ranks. The Polish General Staff intends to respond positively to this request by soon introducing appropriate regulations,” it wrote on X.
Revealing that a scale from private to sergeant was planned, it added: “The right to award dogs a military rank will be vested in the commanders of the units in which they serve.”
