ISTANBUL (AA) - Polish President Andrzej Duda said on Friday that Warsaw delivered the first batch of Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine.
"The prime minister couldn’t be here, he went to Kyiv to bring Leopard tanks which are the first batch delivered to Ukraine," Duda said during a meeting of the National Security Council.
The meeting was also attended by Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak, who also confirmed the deliveries to Kyiv.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki traveled to the capital Kyiv, where he met with his Ukrainian counterpart Denys Shmyhal and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
On Jan. 26, Morawiecki announced that Warsaw would deliver 14 Leopard 2A4 tanks to Ukraine.
