ANKARA (AA) - UK football side Watford FC announced on Monday the appointment of Claudio Ranieri as head coach.
Italian manager signed a two-year contract with the Premier League club, according to a statement on the club's official website.
The 69-year-old left Serie A club Sampdoria in June and has been free since.
Ranieri had been head coach of important clubs including Valencia, Chelsea, Juventus, Roma, and Inter.
He won the UEFA Super Cup in 2005 with Valencia, though Leicester City's first and only Premier League title in 2016 under his management is seen by many as his greatest achievement.
Watford currently stand at 15th place on the English Premier League table with seven points.
