ANKARA (AA) - Newly crowned Premier League champions Liverpool were thrashed 4-0 by Manchester City in a match at Etihad Stadium on Thursday.
Manchester City led the first half 3-0 with goals by Kevin de Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and Philip Foden.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's own goal in the 66th minute made the score 4-0 as the Reds suffered their second loss in the Premier League this season.
Liverpool were previously crowned the 2019-2020 Premier League champions after Manchester City were defeated by Chelsea 2-1 last week.
Manchester City increased their points to 66 to sit in second place, 20 points behind leaders Liverpool.
In another match Thursday, Sheffield United defeated Tottenham Hotspur 3-1.
