ANKARA (AA) – The English Premier League will return from the international break with a big Manchester City-Liverpool clash on Saturday.
The reigning champions Citizens have 28 points and will aim to keep their top spot against current runners-up Reds, which are only one point behind them in the standings.
After a below-par last season, Liverpool have put up a good display lately, thanks to the good form of several players, including veteran Dutch defender Virgil Van Dijk and Uruguayan forward Darwin Nunez, as they have lost only once this season.
Liverpool's Egyptian star Mohamed Salah is another possible threat to the Citizens, as he is one of the best right-wingers in the league, and Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola generally does not use a left-back due to his tactical choice.
Despite Liverpool's strengths, with the Norwegian scoring machine Erling Haaland and game-changing midfielders such as Kevin De Bruyne and Jack Grealish, Manchester City are still a force to reckon with.
Last season, the Sky Blues became the second English club, after Manchester United in 1999 to bag the Champions League, Premier League, and FA Cup in a single season.
