ISTANBUL (AA) - English club Brentford have offered Christian Eriksen a return to the Premier League with a six-month deal, including an option to extend for another year, according to the Athletic sports website.
Eriksen, 29, has been without a contract since his deal at Inter Milan was terminated last month because of medical issues related to a cardiac arrest he suffered during a EURO 2020 Group B match against Finland in June.
He was rushed to a Danish hospital after urgent medical interventions on the pitch.
Eriksen underwent successful surgery and was discharged June 18.
The midfielder, who is currently a free agent, did not play for Inter Milan and his native Denmark for several months.
Eriksen was a three-time Dutch champion with Ajax Amsterdam.
He helped Inter win the 2021 Italian Serie A title and had 60 appearances, scoring eight goals for the Italian side.
He scored 36 goals in 109 international caps for the Danish national team since his debut in 2010.
