ISTANBUL (AA) - Propaganda and misinformation can only be countered by revealing the truth, Anadolu’s President and CEO Serdar Karagoz said on Friday.
Speaking to Anadolu reporters on the sidelines of the Strategic Communications (Stratcom) Summit organized by Türkiye’s Communications Directorate, Karagoz said Anadolu stands by journalism that upholds the truth.
"As Anadolu, we are fighting against disinformation in many areas. You cannot counter propaganda just by saying 'this is propaganda,' you have to reveal the truth," he said, adding that Stratcom would focus on this very topic.
Noting that the main focus of Stratcom, which is being held for the third time, is "hybrid threats," Karagoz said that these threats are aimed at targeting solidarity, security and stability.
Karagoz further pointed out that it is important to combat these threats, especially in the field of communication, and said: "As you know, our world is in a spiral of conflict, war and despair more than ever before. The media plays an active role here."
- Crimes against international law
"As Anadolu, we have collected the evidence of Israel's crimes against international law and human rights in Gaza. We have collected this evidence both at the national and international levels," Karagoz said.
"We will submit it to the relevant courts for review," he added.
Reminding that people, children and civilians have been killed and hospitals, mosques and churches have been bombed in Gaza, Karagoz said, "We are yet to observe any prominent reaction in the international media on this issue.”
Karagoz also said that Anadolu exposes human rights violations and reveals Israel's propaganda. "Our better and more effective use of mass media, our more reliable journalism disturbs those behind the propaganda," he added.
He appreciated Turkish media for an effort to make Israel’s aggression to the world known.
