RABAT, Morocco (AA) - Israel's attacks on Gaza were protested Friday in 54 cities across Morocco.

Support demonstrations were organized at 105 separate points in the cities, according to a statement from the Moroccan civil society organization, the Institution for Supporting the Problems of the Ummah.

In Casablanca, Al-Qunaitira, Sefrou, El-Jadida, Safi and Agadir, condemnation was voiced against the genocide committed by Israel against civilians in Gaza and the silence of Western countries, as well as support from the West for Tel Aviv.

Protesters demanded that Moroccan authorities support the Palestinian people and step back from normalization agreements with Israel.

Demonstrators expressed that they would continue to protest until the war in Gaza ends and Palestinians achieve fair and legitimate rights.

Morocco and Israel signed a normalization agreement Dec. 10, 2020, envisaging the resumption of diplomatic relations in exchange for the recognition of Morocco's sovereignty in Western Sahara.
