ANKARA (AA) - Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) lost to Olympique Lyon 1-0 in Sunday's French league match and will now have to play in the absence of injured Brazilian superstar Neymar.
Lyon scored the winning goal in the first half in Paris's Parc des Princes as Zimbabwean forward Tino Kadewere finished in the area.
Near the end of the game, Lyon midfielder Thiago Mendes made a sliding tackle against Neymar, leading to the injury of the PSG forward's left ankle.
Neymar was visibly in pain as he left the pitch on a stretcher with the suspected ankle injury.
After the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) review, Mendes was shown a red card.
Following the away win, Lyon leveled in points with Ligue 1 leaders Lille. Both clubs had 29 points in 14 matches.
Meanwhile, third-place PSG racked up 28 points.
Olympique Marseille bagged 27 points in 12 matches and are now chasing PSG.
