ANKARA (AA) - Paris Saint-Germain drew 0-0 with Olympique Marseille in a Ligue 1 week 11 match Sunday.
PSG had the chance to take an early lead as Marseille's Luan Peres put the ball into his own goal, but it was disallowed in a decision by the video assistant referee (VAR) in the 16th minute at the Orange Velodrome.
Four minutes later, Marseille nearly drew first blood with Polish forward Arkadiusz Milik's goal, but it was also disallowed by the VAR.
Marseille’s Cengiz Under made a run for almost half the pitch in the 41st minute and stayed one-on-one with PSG goalie Keylor Navas, but the offside flag was up for the Turkish player.
A strike by Lionel Messi to the top corner of the Marseille goal was inches away from the crossbar in the 43rd minute.
Dimitri Payet of Marseille expected a penalty as he collapsed in the penalty area in the 48th minute, but the referee signaled to play on.
Under was pulled down by PSG right back Achraf Hakimi in front of the PSG penalty area and after VAR consultation, the referee showed Hakimi a red card in the 57th minute.
Valentin Rongier missed another goal chance for Olympique Marseille as his header was inches away from the goal in the 65th minute.
US forward Konrad de la Fuente missed another opportunity for Marseille as he failed to shoot the ball into the center of PSG’s net in the 76th minute.
PSG still sit atop the Ligue 1 table with 28 points while Marseille are fourth with 18 points.
