ANKARA (AA) - Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) secured a record 11th French league title after a 1-1 draw at Strasbourg on Saturday.
Argentine superstar Lionel Messi scored the opener in the 59th minute at Strasbourg's Meinau Stadium but the home team's forward Kevin Gamiero leveled the match in the 79th minute.
PSG won the French title with a game to spare.
The Paris giants moved four points clear of second-place Lens with a match left in the league.
Back-to-back champions PSG overtook Saint-Etienne, which won their 10th title in 1981.
Saint-Etienne were relegated to the second division last year.
PSG dominated the French top-tier league in the last 11 seasons, winning nine French league titles in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022 and 2023.
