DOHA (AA) - Qatar and Japan on Wednesday announced that citizens holding diplomatic passports would be exempted from having to obtain travel visas as of January 1, 2018.
Rather, Qatari and Japanese citizens holding diplomatic passports will be granted entry permits at their respective point of entry.
Official memorandums to this effect were exchanged between representatives of both countries at an official ceremony at the Japanese Foreign Ministry, according to the Qatar News Agency.
The ceremony was attended by Secretary-General of Qatar’s Foreign Ministry, Ahmed bin Hassan al-Hammadi, and head of the Eastern and African Affairs Bureau at the Japanese Foreign Ministry, Hiroshi Oka.
