ISTANBUL (AA) - Qatar's consumer price index (CPI) rose to 0.98% year-on-year in June, up from 0.93% in May, the country's statistical authority said on Tuesday.
Price increase was mainly driven by 14.09% in recreation and culture, 3.42% in education, and 0.09% in food and beverages.
On the other hand, communication decreased by 4.62%, while housing, water, electricity and other fuels decreased by 3.10% and transport by 0.32%.
Qatar’s consumer price index decreased 0.07% in June compared to May.
Comparing the main components, communication increased by 9.29%, entertainment and culture by 1.24%, while education recorded an almost flat increase of 0.04%.
Food and beverages decreased by 3.12%, clothing and footwear by 0.86%, and miscellaneous goods and services by 0.18%.
