ANKARA (AA) - Mother of the Amir of the State of Qatar, Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser, said on Wednesday that Israel continues its attacks on Gaza as usual, disregarding all international law.
Emine Erdogan hosted the summit "One Heart for Palestine" with other first spouses from around the world in the Turkish metropolis of Istanbul as part of Ankara's efforts to end the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza.
Speaking at the summit, Sheikha Moza emphasized that everyone around the world is "witnessing these crimes," and the Palestinian people are being "forcibly" displaced.
"International humanitarian law is being violated as these people are ruthlessly killed, and their homes are destroyed. This is undoubtedly a complete violation."
Sheikha Moza noted that the international community has been unable to stop this and questioned how long the world will remain indifferent to Israel's actions. She expressed their commitment to resolving issues through dialogue and emphasized their stand against crimes committed against humanity.
She called for an immediate cease-fire, highlighting that despite the call, it has not been implemented.
She stressed the need for increased international pressure, insisting that hospitals and schools should not be targeted in such attacks. She also expressed Qatar's readiness to provide international support for education in the upcoming period.
As the Israeli assault on the Gaza Strip entered its 40th day, at least 11,320 Palestinians have been killed, including over 7,800 women and children, and more than 29,200 others have been injured, according to the latest figures from Palestinian authorities.
Thousands of buildings, including hospitals, mosques, and churches, have also been damaged or destroyed in Israel's relentless air and ground attacks on the besieged enclave since last month.
