ISTANBUL (AA) - The foreign ministers of the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue countries met in the Japanese capital Tokyo on Monday.
Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa hosted her counterparts Antony Blinken from the US, Penny Wong from Australia and Subrahmanyam Jaishankar from India.
The US-led Quadrilateral Security Dialogue, commonly known as Quad, is a loose security alliance between the four nations.
“It has become more important for the four nations, sharing values of freedom and democracy, to work together in realizing a free and open Indo-Pacific based on the rule of law,” Kamikawa said as the meeting opened in Tokyo.
A joint statement is expected to be issued at the end of the meeting.
