ANKARA (AA) - Raheem Sterling on Wednesday announced his departure from Manchester City.
"Seven seasons, eleven major trophies, a lifetime of memories (..) What a ride it’s been," the 27-year-old attacker wrote on Instagram.
"I am thankful for the ups and the downs. As it’s the downs that have, at times, tested my strength and resolve, and enabled me to stand here in front of you as the best possible version of myself," he added.
The English winger thanked the Citizens and said: “It’s been an honour to wear the shirt of Manchester City."
Sterling, who joined Man City in 2015 from rivals Liverpool, scored 131 goals and made 94 assists in 337 games for the Blues. He bagged four English Premier League titles (2018, 2019, 2021, 2022) and one FA Cup in 2019 with the Citizens.
